Pastel Workshop with Ken Keith .
This is the painting all 14 of us worked on nov.12 at the maple side Friends church. The O'Brien county art club meets there every month. It was really fun to learn a new technique in a new medium.I think all particapating had a great time.We squiggled this whole painting on dark blue paper so when the paper shows through it's like a shadow.
Here's just a farther away shot .The farther away you get the more detailed and realistic it looks.I think I need to get some darker paper , though Ken uses matboard alot for his paintings.

Free Pigs
This is a painting I did at the A.R.T.(road show) while people were coming through. though the picture is a little dark , it's a pretty bright painting. Just a fun little painting that came together easily, and brings back memories (good and not so good )of sorting pigs out in the pasture .

this is one of our kittens born this year . She has a new home now . When she was with us we called her Hans .We later found out she was a girl!then we called her Hansina. This painting is sold now as well. I wasn't really very happy with the background , the cat is fine but the background got overworked and ecky( to me anyway).

Here's a picture I've never posted this is from last year .(2006)
this is the back of April.

THis is my painting table last Artisans road trip this painting sold this year (isn't that crazy)

And this next picture is just a random one of me hauling my Duluth pack in boundary waters this Sept.
that thing weighed alot I don't know how much ,but it weighed enough.

And this is our whole crew on the trip: Erin, Tom, me, Jaron (brother) , Torray(brother) and Caleb. I will have to paint from some of the pictures I took there. I brought my sketch book ,but never really had a good time to use it ( too windy , too rainy , too snowy, too cold, too tired!). Well theres alway next year!

Here are a few post cards I painted the other day just to get in the mood.

This one I mailed to my sister April it was fun to just stamp it and see if it made it .
Roosters are so fun. I would recommend post cards .If I ever went anywhere interesting I would paint post cards and send them home.
Here are some places I would go: Austria , New Zealand , Scotland, France, Papua New Gunea(did you know it rains over an inch a day there?) and hm.....Canada.

Artisan's Road Trip 2007

A Goat (watercolor)2007
this is one of the paintings that sold.
I started painting this goat really bright blue and then I tamed
it down with some browns and purple . I really like the
effect.
Here is my brother and Sister enjoying the observation chairs.

My Grandma and I showed our paintings at the community
building in Paullina . It was a really nice place with lots of room
to wander and look around, we also had some relaxing music in the
background that really made it pleasant .(especially for painting! I finished
both my paintings on the first day and had to scrounge up a new one for
sunday!)
Grandma's half finished painting (Pastel)

I had 8 paintings and Grandma had 13 it made a
nice show. It was fun ,but next year I want to go and
see the other exhibit on the road trip.

Portrait of our dogs, watercolor (of course) 2007.

this is a portrait of Bess,a newfoundland/Great pyrenese mix and Lexie and Flo our two border collies. they're learning how to be sheep herding dogs .Bess is beyond being a guard dog and has become a big pet.

Ice cream cone 2006
this photo looks a little bluer that the actual painting. I really like ice cream , it only seemed right to paint it.

last week I decided to get up early and go plein aire (sp?) painting . Our whole pasture was full of water and the sunrise on the water was amazing! the cold air was invigorating , so was the mud I had to walk through. I only did one small sketch (not pictured)before I was freezing. Here is the painting I did back at my studio/bedroom. It was really fun , I don't mind mornings and the display of God's glory was worth the early rise, and the freezing.

Here is a painting I started the other day it's not quite finished, and this photo isn't the best. It's alot of wet on wet I kinda like it.

snowed in

hello, from Faye, welcome to my blog, I don't really have much on here now, but I hope to get more paintings loaded.maybe even some for sale ? my brother will have to help me with that one. ( he's a computer whizzz. ) I haven't done too much painting , I've kinda lost my inspiration. But tomorrow is another day, and I'm snowed in . To help me get inspired I picked up my Grandma's magazine International Artist, it's really great , lot's of neat paintings and painters. I have some inclination to paint , now I just need a subject , maybe the snow? It's beautiful I saw one huge drift today that had a huge lip ,like the end of an ice cream cone or whipped cream!
