A visit

Sugar Beet and Scooter got to visit me the other day:

Aww that face will melt your heart

I finished my quilt!!

I can't believe it......after over 2 years I finally finished hand quilting my quilt.
These aren't the best pictures because of the light, but it is beautiful and it's more beautiful because it's actually done!
A big thank-you goes out to my mom, sister and grandma who all added a few stitches to this quilt.
And to my husband my biggest encourager and cheer leader.
I made this quilt without a plan and I don't really have a plan for it now...but it is lovely and done.
The cloth is either leftover from other projects or bits and pieces of cloth I had or Grandma gave me.

HeHe...Pardon me while I do my finished project dance.

Yippee!!!
What should I start next???

short apartment tour

Since I showed you the outside I thought I'd give you a little peak inside.

The red kitchen was red when we moved in , but my darling added the wonderful shelves and hooks for coffee cups which helps with a bit of storage and counter space this little kitchen lacks.
A small kitchen is actually quite efficient because everything is right at your fingertips! one sunday I believe we fit 5 people in it.(not terribly comfortably:)
This was in summer also .... note the fan.
The chairs we picked up along with three bolts of upholstery fabric and an air conditioner at a garage sale on our honeymoon (we were meant for each other both my hubby and I like a good deal) for $15 and I recovered the seats with some of the fabric. Can't say I would want to Reupholster for a living but it was very rewarding and I think they look great!
I love that we have a piano (heaven know how they got it up the stairs)
And that's the front room and the kitchen...just to give you a taste.

First Apartment Garden

So it's been awhile since I posted . Life has been crazy what with getting married and moving and all, but I wanted to show you my little scrounged together Garden on the loading dock of our building.
My Hubby and I's first home is a downtown upstairs apartment. Full of charm and....a quite a few stairs.
These pictures were taking earlier in mid summer. I had tomatoes in buckets, glad bulbs bought on our honeymoon. Scrounged pots and pots brought from my home and even a little make do table saved from the dumpster.
The teapot and cups were salvaged from a collection of misfit pottery my dad made and left in an old shed on the home farm.
 Look! fresh tomoates!!!
I do have to say that one of my favorites was the basket of wave petunia hanging from the balcony...they bloomed all summer long and are now just shriveled up for winter.
Now that we will most likely be moving soon...I look back fondly to our little garden:) on to the next adventure! maybe even a real flower bed? we shall see......
