Stuff Faye made!

Mittens ( done just before the weather changed). Because I am notorious for losing my mittens.
Barn Swallows. I loved how free flowing and fun this painting was to create. Thanks Whit and Robin for wanting to paint with me!

A make believe house. Houses are always fascinating to me all the windows and angles, and possibilities hidden within.

Paper Airplanes! Do you know how to make a paper airplane?
I am proud to say that I can make a pretty mean paper airplane ,and that mine usually fly pretty good too.
Robby and I made these for a baby shower ,and I couldn't bear to throw them away after our finger numbing evening of paper folding.
Do you want to learn how to fold a paper airplane? well I might show you sometime.
If your nice.(Hey look!  I actually did a little tutorial in the next post. Check it out it's called "how to make a paper airplane" )

Elephants! This was a christmas present I actually made and finished in time for Christmas. Can you believe it?! And yes i know it is march and long past christmas ,but isn't he cute?
(are your inanimate things He's or She's? mine are usually He's)

I spun these skeins from wool my Spinning and Weaving guild (or The Fiber Ladies as I like to affectionetly call them) dyed and carded. They are going to be a flock of Hens and a flock? of Owls. Just trust me they are gonna be pretty darn cool maybe even Pinterestable.

So now I can grab a chair and take a breather til my next creative urge ensues.
Here are some ideas:
A painting of my Dog Meg
Learn how to do basic woodworking
Make something out of an old door
Make something out of an old pallett
Knit a barret
Get some painting framed
Sew a dress
Build a house ( just joking!...maybe.)
oh oh oh!   Grow mushrooms (for eating).
Plant my Garden ......

Food!

I was looking through my photos from the last month and noticed a theme:  Pictures of food, and the memories they are forever connected with.

1.
First off this is the beet cake with beet cream cheese frosting, it sounded weird enought that I had to try it, and I just happened to have 3 beets left from the garden. It looked great ,but the cake ended up being a bit dry and a little dissapointing. Good thing I have family near by to help me eat my experiments.
Thank-you to all who were brave enough to eat this even when I said there was a secret ingredient.

2.
Lindonberry? cheese cake at Nena's Coffee shop in Minneapolis.
My first ever trip by myself to the big city to visit my super duper friend Naomi.
The little bit of scary driving was so worth it!
Being there for April, Sipping coffee,
Melted Ice sculptures , the fire parade, Jubilee Church and a dear friend to tell all my secrets to.

3.
This is a recipe that I actually almost followed.
My friend Whitney was over and we were scanning cookbooks to find Supper, a  Supper that used the ingredients I had on hand.
This was easy and delicious!
Robin Whitney and I ate leisurely and talked about books and boys.
Eggs poached in curried Tomato Sauce2 Tbls Olive oil
1 1/2 Chopped onion
1 Tbls minced garlic
1 Tbls minced peeled fresh garlic
1 jalapeno pepper minced ( or red pepper flakes if you aren't in the habit of having jalepeno on hand !)
2 teas Curry powder
3/8 teas Salt
1/4 teas pepper
1 can of diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 c. light coconut milk ( or regular milk, or omit this altogether and it will be fine)
4 large eggs
fresh cilantro or parsley or basil which ever you can find
4 pieces of toast or english muffin
1. heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat. Add onion and next 3 ingredients. Saute 5 min. or until veggies are tender.Add curry powder and next 3 ingredients. cook 2 min. Add tomatoes and simmer about 10 min. Add eggs and cover and cook for 5 minutes, just until whites are set or desired doneness.
Serve over toast.

Whitney also brought this lovely, delicous red velvet cake. She is the dessert queen.

4.
Mmmmm breakfast.... Cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven with a bit of butter , gently cooked scrambled eggs and milky coffee.
I made overnight cinnamon rolls for our two mystery guests from the Northwestern Choir.
They came to give a concert at our church ,and they were looking for places to spend the night.
I was nervous ,but for no reason . Our two girls were so easy going and lovable! the perfect way to get us started on our way to being great hostess's.
Thank-you Taylor and Erica.
May we meet again someday.

Cinnamon rolls the next day with a bit more butter ,and some Cold milk.
Okay now after writing this I'm hungry again. How bout you?
